Wireless Indoor Outdoor Speakers

Has anyone used more than one set of wireless speakers?

I will be upgrading from a 5.1 to a 7.1 home theater receiver. I live in an apartment and don't want to run wires to the 2 surrounds, and 2 rear speakers. I plan on purchasing a "Rocketfish" wireless transmitter/receiver to send the signal to the rear speakers. I don't have the surround speakers yet but was wondering about the possibility of using "two" rocketfish setups. They transmit on 2.4Ghz I believe. Would there be interference issues? Would using two setups significantly reduce sound quality? I know wireless quality is subpar to a direct connection so I really don't want to do wireless at all but I just cant run wires. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. anything that uses 2.4 ghz has a potential of being interfered with by and causing interference to wireless routers and computers.....Try something that uses 5.8ghz or 900MHz.... Sony used to sell multi channel 900MHz speakers...
  2. Although I haven't tried it yet, I am going to buy the ROCKETFISH unit at Best Buy ($99). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8275528&st=rocketfish&type=product&id=1171058476489 It's a wireless transmitter and receiver unit that you hook a pair of speakers up to. It's been getting very good reviews. For rear and center speakers I an going to use the Dual LU43P's from Circuit City. These are *amazing* little indoor/outdoor speakers that can be had for as low as $19 a pair on sale or $29 a pair regular price. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Dual-Outdoor-Speakers-LU43PB/sem/rpsm/oid/128222/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do I have 3 pairs of these in various places around the house and outside. I will mount these on modified http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/OmniMount-Mini-Satellite-Speaker-Stand-SR1P/sem/rpsm/oid/137007/catOid/-12927/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do speaker stands... they need a hole drilled into the flat base that you put your speaker on in order to securely screw the speaker onto the stand.
