Any ideas for wireless solutions linking a mac to a stereo and speakers and tv to stereo? we have just moved house and need wireless only solutions around the house in connecting a mac (osx 10.4) to a sony hifi in a different room to link up and play itunes through the stereo. we need a wireless modem and adaptor to connect to broadband as phone line is in a separate hallway. we also would like a wireless connection from our samsung (new) tv to the same stereo to again play sound through the speakers. also are there any decent wireless speakers for a mac as ideally we would like speakers for the same room where the mac is and also our bedroom. i have looked at airport express etc and visited many shops but am baffled with it all. sounds a lot i know but please advise in plain english exactly how everything would work and cost. all the above has to be reasonably good quality but also affordable. I know i already stated it is a mac so must be mac compatible, if you do not know this please don't answer the question. Cheers.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as wireless speakers for your tv and your laptop? I am looking for speakers that i can use for both my tv as well as my laptop. If they were wireless it would make my life easier because my tv is in my living room and i am usually on the laptop in my bedroom. Also i have a very unique round entertainment center so to many speakers aren't really necessary. im on the verge of getting separate systems but i figured i would ask first and try to save some money
Wireless speakers for tv? Hopefully this will catch a real audiophiles eye. I want to use wireless speakers for my LCD TV, I really don't want to have to deal with wires around it as I have no place to hide them. I did some research and the product description usually says that the speaker system can pick up the signal from an audio source. Does this mean that it will pick up the audio directly from the TV or do I still need some kind of receiver? Or, do I get a pair of wireless speakers and some how hook the signal box directly up to the TV?
I need true wireless surround sound speakers for my TV, do us anyone really have any? ? I keep searching "wireless" sepeakers for surround sound, but when I get them they are really not wireless, I have to hook them to a "box" in the back of the room, the only convience is the wires do not have to be ran from the front of the room to the back, but there are still wires, so how can this be wireless? Are there any true wireless speakers out there?
wireless / wifi speakers for tv? Am trying to help a family member who is hard of hearing and suggested they have auxillary speakers posiitoned near to where they sit to watch tv, which means the volume does not need to be set at max! Have tried it with basic speakers from my pc - it works, but is very "tinny" and the wires are a problem. Without resorting to home cinema (which would be a waste as they would not be able to appreciate the surround sound etc) wondered if there was a reasonably priced alternative? Don't know the difference between wifi and wireless and infra red (other than the real obvious) and would appreciate any tips / advice on the matter. The tv is a new samsung lcd. had thought of headphones, but would prefer actual speakers? Any other ideas please? had thought of headphones, but would prefer actual speakers? Any other ideas please?
Can I listen to my TV with a wireless speaker? I am a little hard of hearing and i want to be able to listen to the television through a wireless speaker e.g. a portable radio. Satellite/Wireless speakers, does the conveniece sacrifice the quality? I'm trying to make the best possible home theater I can get within my budget limits. Of course I'm looking at quality first, style second. Considering the size of the room I'm working with, I was reading on satellite/wireless speakers and thought to myself "no wires showing would be great, and less of a hassle for me". My original plan is to have the speakers next to the TV (set A lets call them) to be wired to the home theater receiver and the 2 satellite speakers to be wireless (set B). Would there be a noticeable latency for the satellite speakers receiving as signal? For example, will I hear a scream on set A and 2 seconds later hear the same scream on set B? Going with latency, let's assume DVDs don't have a latency, but what about videogame consoles? I am planning to hook up the systems as well, but will since these days consoles have multiple sounds coming from multiple directions at once, I wasn't sure if the wireless speakers router could handle it.
how can i hook up speakers to a TV? I would like to hook up speakers to the audio outputs on my TV. Do I have to use an amplifier or amplified speakers? Can I do wireless speakers from these outputs?
What are some good wireless ipod speakers? Okay this is what I'm looking for: A wireless speaker system that I can hook my ipod up to, but also hook my tv/computer up to. Preferably under $200, but I'd go higher if i have to.
Problem with Wireless headphones for TV? I have a set of RCA wireless headphones (model WHP141) for listening to my HD television. The problem is when I plug the headset into the audio output on the TV, the sound from the TV speakers shuts off and then my wife cannot hear the TV. Is there something I can do to enable both the headset and the TV speakers so we both can hear the TV?
Wireless speakers without home theater possible? I would like to purchase wireless speakers but I do not have a home theater setup. I simply want to have a pair of speakers for the other end of my room. Is this a possibility and would the receiver connect to the HDTV or to the STB I have from U-Verse? I was looking at Cables Unlimited or Rocketfish. But they seem to need a surround sound home theater package first?? There is also the thing called TV Ears and I am confused. Thank you
How can i make my speakers wireless? I have four speakers in my basement. However i would like to move them around without dragging all the wires with me. I have a tv set up in one part of my basement that is equipped with a Yamaha receiver that connects 4 different speakers. But i want to every now and then move those speakers over to the big part of the basement (without moving the receiver and wires with me) for when i have parties and what not. I would still be able to control the receiver with remote from the distance. I am hoping there is something i could connect to the speakers. So, what can i do?
Wireless home speakers for home theater system? I have a friend who wants to take the music from his Bose home theater system and wire up every room in his house for his continuous Apple TV MP3 music players whatever, but not all rooms can be done with wires, so we need to find out if there are any wireless devices out there that can do this. Something we can hook the wires coming from the back of the Bose into a wireless transmitter with several speaker receivers. Thanks!
tv and new speakers VOLUME? Hopefully this will be my final question on this matter. I have an LCD TV/DVD combi for use in my medium sized bedroom. However the maximum volume isn't really high enough for my liking... I've already established that I can't get surround sound for my unit so will have to settle for stereo speakers. I've been told that I need to use (out of lack of any other options) a mini jack(3.5mm) to rca cable to connect my tv/dvd combi to the new speakers, provided the speakers have auxiliary in. I've been shopping around and I've found a pair of great wireless speakers (full details here http://www.aqwirelessaudio.com/store/en/view_product/61/1793/?product_view=overview#tab) that appear to fit these requirements. Now for the million dollar question, these new speakers have 2x3Watts RMS... my current built-in tv/dvd speakers are 2x1.5Watts RMS. So, does this mean that my new speakers will increase the volume level of my tv/dvd because after all that is all I am after! Somebody please help I don't want to splash out. All I want is higher volume...will this give me it? In response to Mark, the product details state: "The speakers can either operate with batteries or can be plugged into the mains power." So does this mean that its amplified from the AC as you said?
Ambisound or wireless satellite speakers? I have a 50" Plasma TV with an Xbox 360 attached, and other features that warrant surround sound, but my dad hates to see cables or wires, and the way our living room is set up, there's no way we can really hide them, so I was wondering what is better - Ambisound technology from Sony, or a wireless surround sound system? If you know of any other home theatre sound packages that would suit the problem, please tell also.
How to get more volume & audio line out on computer? I have only one audio line out on my sound card and that of course is used for the computer speakers. I purchased a splitter but that's not enough as I have several items i.e. wireless speakers, tv speakers, VCR and DVD speakers, etc.etc. Each additional unit I plug in I get less and less volume. What do I need to research and purchase to solve my problem
Can the volume of Wireless Headphones be used independently from normal TV volume? I have a Panasonic TV Model TX-32LXD70 As I am hard of hearing,I would like to use WIRELESS Headphones with the volume at a higher level than that being listened to by others viewing the same program. From the operating instructions its not clear if this is possible. In the past I had a TV with a headphone socket that unfortuneately cut off the speakers when WIRED headphones were used. Can anyone advise me if the wireless type perform differently, or does it depend on the type of socket on the TV?

These are one brand of speakers we are considering. http://www.amazon.com/Acoustic-Research-AW-871-Wireless-Speakers/dp/B00023NDLS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199039169&sr=8-2
Connecting wireless Speakers to PC? I just bought a Samsung Soundbar ht-x810 model, which has bluetooth capabilities (the subwoofer is wireless). I'm trying to figure out how to get my desktop to connect to it via bluetooth. Do I need to buy a bluetooth usb key? Or can I download a software somewhere for free? How to I wirelessly transmit video and audio from my computer to my TV and speaker system? I haven't bought a TV or speakers, but I'm going to want to transmit most of the regular cable/satalite programing, movies, audio through my computer into the TV and separate speaker system. Do they make Bluetooth TV sets and Bluetooth speaker systems, and even if they did would I be able to transmit from my computer to both or just one? What other wireless options are available to me the only cord I want attached to my TV is the power and wireless reviecer and same with my stereo system. How do I do it?
Can I use a home theater speaker system with wireless rear speakers with my existing receiver? I have always used stereo speakers with this receiver for music and tv/movies, but would like to switch to wireless speakers for true surround sound. (And I do not have any way to hide the speaker cables that run to the back) Can I get a speaker package and hook it up to my current receiver or do those kinds of sets need to be used with a matching receiver? I know my question probably wasn't clear, but I am not looking to add just wireless rear speakers, but to purchase a whole speaker system. One that has wireless rear speakers included.
Help with buying TV speakers? I've already gotten some good advice by looking at previously asked questions. But some remain. Like, most speaker systems will have to be hooked up to the TV, meaning they're not wireless? Which means that they'll need to be close to the TV unless I decide to run wires around the room? Do I need to buy speakers by the same mfr. as the tv itself? I know I'd get better quality for more money, but I'm not going there. So will it be worth spending around $200? Do the speakers take the place of the built-in tv speakers, or are they in addition to them?
What do I need to setup a wireless surround system to my 50" Plasma TV? I just bought a 50" Plasma HD TV. I want to add surround sound. But I want everything to be wireless. What all do I need. Can I just buy wireless speakers? Or do I need something additional. I don't have alot of money to spend at the moment. I would like to get some namebrand speakers that I can add a piece to now and then. Thank You ~DWR 13 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details 11 hours ago One poster stated that I "would still need wires to get the signal from the receiver to the speakers" ... that makes no sense to me. Isn't that what 'wireless' means: that I don't have to have any wires at all? lol. OMG < gets out drop cords ... again! >

Are only the rear speakers of wireless surround sound really wireless? I'm thinking of buying a wireless surround sound system, because I don't want to string wires across my living room. I'm thinking of purchasing this system: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8724419&st=DAVHDX576WF&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1200703058141 the Sony DAVHDX576WF. It appears that only the two rear speakers are wireless. Is this standard with wireless systems or do some have all wireless speakers? Would it be fairly easy to hide the wires of this system behind my tv and stand? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
How do I test the wireless rear speakers on my Panasonic SC-PT865? G'day mates, I bought a Panasonic Plasma TV, TH-42PX8A VIERA, a Panasonic Home Theater sound system, SC-PT865, and a TIVO unit. I hooked-up the units via HDMI cables, two, one from the Tivo to the TV set and one from the Home Theater Unit to the TV set. The Tivo is working well but I don't seem to have any sound coming from the back wireless speakers of the home theater system. If I play a DVD, the sound from the back speakers is Very low. I've tried setting-up the Automatic Speakers Setup but can find no-where to plug in the little Auto Speaker Set-up Microphone. Can anyone advise me on the best method of setting-up the surround speakers or, just where does the little Auto Speaker Set-up Microphone plug into? Thanking everyone in advance for any advice they give. Bill Yes Chris I do, I tried that and got nothing.

What is the best way to hide all my av wires behind my tv? I currently have a 61 inch DLP on a tv stand with two glass shelves below, consisting of a comcast digital box, center speaker, stereo receiver with 5.1 surround sound speakers, modem and wireless router, xbox 360, and a dvd player. As you can imagine, behind my television looks like a giant rat's nest. I have many ac plugs, speaker wires, a/v cables, computer cables, etc. The xbox 360 ac plug alone looks like a huge brick. The tv stand itself has one center frame where you can hide a few plugs, but not enough room to cover even half the stuff mentioned. Now to the point. Do they sell some sort of 6 inch depth X 6 inch height X 5 foot length cover with holes to hide all this mess in black somewhere? Can this be man-made and still look nice? If it is man-made, is wood okay to use to cover all these electrical wires? Is there any other options? Thanks. FYI Update: Sorry I left this part out. I am renting an apartment and have wood floors. Nothing permanent can be changed to the house structure.
How do I make my current stereo receiver wireless? I have an old Denon system for my tv/dvd audio. Works great. I'd like to put more speakers around the room for it but it would cost too much to run speaker wires under the house. Anyone know any kind of wireless way of adding speakers? Thanks! Any product names? Wanted to buy cheaper off eBay.

What's the best way to hide the cables for my surround sound speakers? I've got a simple surround sound setup in my living room with 2 rear speakers. Right now I have 2 lame cables strewn across my carpet in the middle of the room between the tv and the back of my couch. What's the best way to get these things out of the way? Is there a wireless solution? Should I just put the wires up along the corners of the room? Under the carpet? Any other ideas?
