Wireless Speakers For Ipod Knowledge Base
where can i get wireless speakers for ipod? I have an iHome, and I would like to have additional speakers around my room to broadcast the music everywhere. I can't seem to find any, though. Cords won't really work because I'd have to make them go ALL the way around, including over a door. And wireless seems much simpler. Thanks
the best wireless speakers for an ipod? I'm looking for Wireless speakers for an Ipod, I'm not looking for Wireless P.C. speakers that can be used for an Ipod. Their is a difference and my interest is in a small base unit that can hold an Ipod power to the plug,Then add stand alone units that have about 100 to 150 feet indoor or outside range. I am interested in a audio in jack so I can hook up a PC, or any other stereo if i want. Does anyone have a good product on the market yet.
Wireless charger for iPod? HELP! I'm going on a trip to Belize in a little less than two weeks and I'm going to bring my iPod. I have a 3rd Generation Nano, and I will probably be watching movies and/or TV shows, especially on the plane ride. Unfortunately, doing so wears down my battery very quickly, and I don't want my iPod to lose all its battery on the plane! I have a plug-in speaker that charges my iPod, so in Belize I'll probably be able to charge it. The plugs in America and in Belize are the same, right? If not, is there such a thing as a wireless iPod charger? If there is, where could I get one? I'd prefer one from a good company from like Apple or something, but anything's fine. I just need to know quickly so I can order it so that it comes before the trip! So please help! Are there outlets for plug-in speaker chargers on airplanes? Are the outlets the same in Belize? Would they let me bring my speaker charger or a wireless charger on the plane? Thanks!! ♥

Wireless speakers? I'd like to find a wireless speaker system, but I am not sure where to start looking. I'd like a simple system that can connect to my ipod. Would like good to great sound quality. A big key would be expandability (i.e. single transmitter which allows for additional speakers to be added at another time, or maybe I can connect it to my DVD player). I'd also like the speakers to be indoor/outdoor, although I don't know if that makes any difference. Our new house has a huge deck and I'd like to have tunes pump out there. Any advice?
I need help finding some wireless speakers for a bedroom? IPOD Virgin needs info? Pardon me for being such an old relic - but I have not gotten an Ipod yet and I need some info. First - please note- the thing I really need it for is IN MY CAR. The CD player in my car has never worked well -- never will - I am too rough on my cars (live on 20 acre farm - lots of dust & dirt in the Jeep). So -- could I finally get music in the car via an Ipod?? I do not want to do it with earbuds - cops wont let you in my state. Big Lots just sent me an ad for this: HMDX Audio iPod Dock & Wireless Speaker System $50 Couldn't I just sit the speakers in my car and I'd be set? Also - once I have an IPOD, where do I go to download music AND - most important thing -- I am not yet believing that they will have the music I want to hear. It is old and some is obscure. Jethro Tull, which is old and Steeleye Span, which is obscure. OK, Folks -- drag me, kicking and screaming, into the 21st ! Thanks

Please help with my outdoor speaker/ipod dilema!? I'm having so much trouble, and I need some help. I'm having an outdoor event at which I NEED music. The problem? It'll be in the middle of an urban park = ZERO Power source. I've confimed that there in fact will not be a power source. I'll have an ipod.... What do I do? I'm doing searches for 'Wireless Speakers', but I hear that they still need a power source. Is this true? Why the HECK are they called "Wireless" then? Could you check this out and tell me if these would need to be plugged in, or if it could take batteries? I can't tell by the description... http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&product=4015009&category=OutdoorSpeakers&catalog=Online&tab=1#more Do you have any other ideas!?
How do I use my iPod as a speaker? I want to be able to use my iPod touch as a wireless speaker for my macbook. I found an app that I thought would work called iSpeaker, but it only works on PC. My goal is to sit on one side of my room, and have my stereo on the other side of the room play whatever is playing on my computer. My internal speakers are busted, so I either have to hook up speakers or earbuds. Any apps anyone know of, is there way to do it via Bluetooth or something built in?

What electronic device combination should I get my boyfriend for Christmas? He asked for an ipod speaker or headphones that go over the ear. Any suggestions or ways to combine some of the ideas? Thanks!
Home theater/audio suggestion, please? Budget <$500. Desire to watch TV/movies in surround sound and play music via iPod, CD, radio both inside and outside (room already pre-wired for outdoor speakers). Currently have old iPod shuffle, but hope to upgrade to new iPod Nano soon. Wireless speakers a plus. So I believe I need a true receiver (like Onkyo), for the audio out for the outdoor speakers, but I also don't want to buy something that will be outdated in a couple years (i.e. one w/o HDMI?). Would be great to be able to listen to music inside and outside at same time (A/B switch?). Not an audioholic, but appreciate good value. Any suggestions on a system?
New X Rocker Wireless (Gaming Chair) 1 of 2 speakers doesnt work?!? New gaming chair for christmas.. both speakers worked. iPod Touch information? Here Is iPod Touch Information The iPod Touch is a portable media player and Wi-Fi mobile platform designed and marketed by Apple Co. The product was launched on September 5, 2007 through an event called The Beat Goes On.[1] The iPod Touch adds the multi-touch graphical user interface to the iPod line and is available with 8, 16, or 32 GB of flash memory. It includes Apple's Safari web browser and is the first iPod with wireless access to the iTunes Store. With a software update, which is sold by Apple, it also has access to Apple's App Store.[2] The second generation iPod Touch, featuring external volume controls, a built-in speaker, a contoured back and built-in Nike+ support, was unveiled on September 9, 2008 at the Let's Rock keynote presentation. The iPod touch has the iPhone's multi-touch interface, with a physical home button off the touch screen. The home screen has a list of buttons for the available applications. All iPod touch models have included the applications Music, Videos, and Photos (collectively duplicating the standard functions of the iPod Classic), iTunes (providing access to the Wi-Fi Music Store), Safari, YouTube, Calendar, Contacts, Clock, Calculator, and Settings. Later models added Mail (accessing POP/IMAP/SMTP e-mail), Maps, Stocks, Notes, and Weather,[3] which could also be added to the earlier models with the purchase of a $20 software upgrade. Direct links to web sites can be added to the home screen by the user (called "Web Clips"). On July 11, 2008 the iPhone 2.0 software was released for the iPod Touch for $9.95. The update allowed 1st generation iPod touches to access the App Store, download third party applications, in addition to a host of minor "fixes". There is now the 2nd generation iPod touches from $229.00. [edit] Requirements As supplied new, the iPod Touch needs a connection to a computer for initial configuration.[4] Officially, Apple requires iTunes to be installed on either a Mac OS X or Windows operating system based computer for configuring the iPod Touch. On either operating system, the iPod Touch must be connected through a USB port.[5] The first time the iPod Touch is turned on, a "connect cable to iTunes" graphic will be displayed continuously until the iPod Touch is connected to a computer running iTunes.[6] To use the iPod Touch for buying products at the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store via Wi-Fi, an iTunes Store account must be created in iTunes and the account details then entered into the iPod.[7] Apple states that the following is required for the iPod Touch:[5] * A computer running either: o Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later o Microsoft Windows XP with SP2 or later, or Vista (32 or 64-bit versions)[8] * iTunes 8.0 (with the 2.1 iPhone OS update) or 7.6 for iPhone OS 2.0.x or earlier * Available USB 2.0 port [edit] Models Generation Capacity Color Connection (for syncing) Original release date Minimum OS to sync Rated battery life (hours) First 8 GB Black USB 2.0 (FireWire for charging only) 5 September 2007 Mac: 10.4.10 Windows: XP SP2 audio: 22 video: 5 16 GB 32 GB 5 February 2008 Second 8 GB Black USB 2.0 only [9] 9 September 2008 Mac: 10.4.10 Windows: XP SP3 audio: 36 video: 6 16 GB 32 GB The iPod touch is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, and, like the iPhone, includes the Safari browser and a viewing client for YouTube. The device's Wi-Fi capabilities can also be used to buy music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. The iPod touch 2.0 Software Update supports WPA2 Enterprise with 802.1X authentication.[10] [edit] Third-party applications Jailbroken first generation iPod Touch, running firmware version 1.1.1. Shortly after the iPod Touch was released (firmware release 1.1.1), hackers were able to "jailbreak" the device through a TIFF exploit. The resulting application, "Installer.app", enabled the user to download a selection of unofficial third-party programs. Some of these give the user more control over the iPod Touch than is officially available, and also makes it work on Linux operating systems. Firmware versions 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.1.5, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.1, and 2.2[11] can also be jailbroken. Only first generation iPods could be jailbroken, since the newest generation has a different processor. Servicing an iPod Touch after jailbreaking or other modifications made by unofficial means is not covered by Apple's warranty. A software development kit (SDK) was officially announced on March 6, 2008, at an Apple Town Hall meeting.[12] The iPhone SDK allows developers to
Help buying speakers? I was looking for some speakers where i could plug my ipod into, have am/fm radio, and an alarm. Plus 2 WIRELESS speakers. Thanks! I am looking to buy the station which holds my ipod etc, AND the speakers
Need Wireless solution for Music? Please recommend a system solution for me. Here are my details. I have a flat panel TV in my family room. I only have the speaker embedded in the TV. In the adjoining room I have a PC which is connected to a wireless network with a wireless router. I want a system whereby I can have wireless speakers/woofer to play music wirelessly from my PC or iPod, and to be able to use the same speaker system for my TV if possible.
Alarm Clock/Docking/Recharging Station for a 3rd Generation iPod Touch? I am trying to find an alarm clock and charging center with a remote that hopefully has wireless speakers that will work with a 3rd generation iPod Touch. It doesn't necessarily need to be an Apple product. I notice that almost all products I find say they will work with a 1st generation and 2nd generation iPod Touch, but does that mean they will work ABSOLUTELY with a 3rd generation, even if the specs don't say so? Even Apple's website is confusing. I couldn't find anything that said it worked specifically with a 3rd generation. Can someone please guide me?
How to power built-in wall speakers? I just moved into a new apartment with a built-in ipod dock. I know it needs an amp or receiver to power it. It doesn't need anything fancy. Just someone to connect to the rca outlet nearby. How much should something simple like this cost me? Would one of those wireless receivers work for this? The speakers are built into the walls with volume knobs all around the apartment.
Questions concerning iPod Touch? I'm thinking of purchasing an iPod touch the 32g model, but I have a few minor questions of some pros and cons before I do. -Can the iPod play music without the use of the headphones? (does it have internal speakers?) -I understand that the wireless can only be used with free wifi? So I wouldn't be able to use my home wireless internet for my iPod? -If the iPod does only use free wifi would I be able to use it to do certain tasks such as checking my e-mail and entertainment? -Would a case be recommended? If so is there a certain model that works best? Those are all of the questions that I could think to ask but if someone could also think to name some pros and cons to an iPod touch it would be much appreciated. :)
Why don't my wireless headphones work through my pc ? My Seinhauser wireless headphones work fine with my ipod but I cannot get them to work through my pc which is why I paid 80euros for them . I have tried plugging them in the headphone socket and in the speaker socket please help !

DJ connecting/speakers/speaker wire/amps/equipment/set up? I have two Acoustic Audio BR12 1000 watt rms/pair with an impedance of 8 ohms, and an 800 watt thump dj system which has dual 8"subs and speakers in it with an impedance of 4 ohms. what size amp do i need? the two Acoustic Audio speakers can use heavy gauge speaker wire or dual standard 1/4" jacks to connect them and the 800 watt speaker system uses regular speaker wire to connect. i only want to use the gold plated connectors for everything to have the highest possible quality sound. but very confused on what equipment i need... i want to hook up a laptop through usb, a wireless mic, and an ipod... how can i go about doing this with a limited budget? do i need a mixer? thanks...
What are some things I can do with a broken iPhone? My sister's friend recently came by and left her broken iPhone here, having no more need for it, so apparently I guess if I want I can do something with it. I would like the iPhone just as the iPod and the speakers, but I don't know how I could do that. I have Verizon Wireless. What things can I do with it? How much would repairing it cost? Could I do that without making it work as a phone?
What's the purpose of a 5 disc DVD changer? I recently purchased a 42" flat screen TV that I will be bringing home for Christmas as a gift to the house and I was thinking about upgrading my other equipment. I currently have a JVC DVD player and a Panasonic 5.1 850 watt surround system and neither of them are HD compatible. I was looking into buying a brand new DVD player and surround sound but I'm not finding anything I like. My current system has two front tower speakers that I want to keep the same style. I'd like to have wireless rear speakers too, which I don't have right now. I found a nice Panasonic system with the tower speakes and wireless rear speakers but it has one feature I'm not sure I want to pay for. It comes with an iPod dock and a 5 disc DVD / CD changer. I have an iPod but I really don't use it that much so the iPod dock would be a waste to me. I'd never use it. The 5 disc changer is also a waste. Who watches 5 movies in a row? I usually watch one movie then I'm done. Again, I don't want to pay for a 5 disc changer and never, NEVER watch more than two movies in a row, which I've hardly ever done. The system itself cost a little more than $400 at Sears. Can you guys give me the pros and cons to having a 5 disc changer? My current surround sound and DVD player are not HD compatible and I want to upgrade for my new TV. Or if you know of a home theatre system that has a single disc DVD player and no iPod dock with tower speakers and rear wireless speakers I'd like to know. Help me out. Oh, by the way, the new Panasonic system I saw was 1000 watts. I want to boost my sound too.
iPhone 3G help!!! 10 points goes to best answer! Can anyone help me please? Hi, I am saving up for an iPhone 3G, but I have Verison Wireless for my cell phone carrier.Unless there is a simple, legal way to get the iPhone 3G for Verison (I doubt there is), I would like to have the iPhone for everything except the phone. I DON'T WANT AN IPOD TOUCH BECUASE IT DOESN'T HAVE A SPEAKER, OR A MIC. I know there are ipod speakers, but there is no external mic for an un-jailbroken ipod touch. I don't want to jailbreak the ipod touch. can someone please help me out???

Good speakers for bedroom under $300? I'm looking for some speakers that are around 12x12.. I want to use them with my ipod touch, and I'm looking for a lot of bass. wireless would be good too.
Is there a wireless audio transmission and receiver thing? Hey I am wondering if there is a thing you can plug into a stereo receiver thing that has a wireless link to it. Other then the things for your ipod that broadcast the music on a radio frequency. My problem is that I have a laptop and I have a Receiver I want to be able to play a song on my laptop and have it broadcast on the speakers that are plugged into the Receiver without having to plug the headphone jack think into my laptop. Any ideas? Thank you but I am talking more direct. Something like wireless headphones where one end is plugged in and sending a direct link to the other end. Not the FM broadcasting thing. (but thank you very much for the reply!)
Best Home Theater Options for Panasonic 1080p Plasma and PS3? Hello all. Let me start by saying "Thank You" to all the dedicated question answers out there. OK. I'll start with my budget of $300-$600. I'm looking for the best value in that price range. I have a Panasonic 1080p Plasma TV and a Playstation 3 in my living room. (My REAL home theater is being built in the basement.) I want to buy a "good" surround sound system. I don't need (or want) it to make the room shake. I just want something that will be a big upgrade over the TV's internal speaker(s). A huge plus would be wireless speakers for the back of the room and an iPod dock. I'm not sure if that's a reasonable request in my price range though. I won't use it much for music but would like the system to be good for that too. Thanks in advance.

iPod nano (5th gen) vs Zen X-fi? I just found out Apple has released the iPod nano 5th generation w/ built in video recording capabilities. Linked here: http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/apple-ipod-nano-fifth/4505-6490_7-33770785.html The new nano has FM radio, voice recording, video recording, internal speakers and all the rest of the 4th gen nano's capabilities. The 16gb nano is priced at $179.99, which is what I would look into to buy. Zen X-fi: Now the 16 gb Zen X-fi has FM radio w/ the ability to save 32 of your fav channels, sync contacts, tasks, and calendar info from Outlook to the device, it has instant msging, wireless podcast support, voice recording, x-fi audio (look it up if you don't know what it is) internal speakers, and, imo the best, the ability to expand your memory w/ an SD card. Zen X-fi linked here: http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/creative-zen-x-fi/4505-6490_7-33158018.html?tag=mncol;lst Conclusion: The nano 5th gen is only $30 more and it comes w/ video recording abilities, which is what really got my attention. However, it does not come with expandable memory, mostly for extra movies. I'm leaning more the zen x-fi, but I really liked the video recording on the nano, even if I wouldn't use it much. Which should I get? I really liked the original Zen, and I was alright w/ having to go to a separate menu for the SD card since all I'm gonna hold in there are extra movies. The build of the zen, imo, was actually pretty good. My original zen was dropped multiple times and would still play perfectly. The screen did not get any cracks. Yeah, I download all my movies in .mp4 format already. I'm just worried about having to convert for the Zen X-fi.
Help with connecting to wireless internet? I have a motorola router.. AT&T I used to have no problem connecting my laptop to the internet wirelessly, but now it only works if the plug is plugged in,which defeats the purpose of having a laptop... My computer freaked out on me so I had to uninstall and then reinstall Windows XP. I went to the internet connection thing to put in the password and connect to the right wireless network and everything, but there isnt even an option to look at the wireless networks, only the local connection, which only works when the plug is plugged in... how can I connect non-wireless speakers to my computer? I had a stereo that connected to speakers with little green and white wires (excuse my terminology). The wires didn't plug in, they had exposed wire at the end that just clipped into the back of my stereo. It worked great, and through my stereo I could plug my computer or iPod in through the headphones jack so that they could play though the speakers that were connected to my stereo. Well, my mom threw away my stereo so I can't plug in my computer any longer. However, I still have the speakers and i'd like to keep them because they're hung on the wall and are all wired up and that took a lot of time (so please don't suggest that I get new or wireless speakers). What can I connect those wires from my speakers to that I can connect to my computer? (Sorry, my terminology isn't great, if I can explain anything better please ask.)
What do I need in order to hook my ipod to my CAR's speakers? I just purchased an ipoud touch 32 gb (second generation), and would like to use it in my car also. I prefer a wireless connection, but what are my options, & what accessories do I need?? thanks!! I don't have a cassette player, my car is a 2005 model.
Where to find either a very small Bluetooth speaker or small receiver to plug miniature speakers into? We want to mount a wireless speaker (mono okay) on a shoulder strap to receive voice commands from a GPS program on a laptop. We have found a miniature pair of amplified stereo speakers (1"x1"x2.5") intended to plug into an iPod like device and are temporarily using them with a cable. Would like a speaker only (no mike needed) Bluetooth or Bluetooth with audio jack. Goal is to make enough volume to hear GPS over traffic while walking but not so heavy as to drag off shoulder. Earphones are NOT an option - blind person must hear environmental audio cues. I trudged back and forth through Fry's on the advice of several departments that demonstrated a complete lack of small speakers and of how Bluetooth functions. Radio Shack is better for small speakers and no trudging. Person has no glasses and I don't want to engineer (and build) a solution - I want a little box.
play ipod/iphone through car speakers? TEN POINTS? Can someone please give me some insight on this topic. I currently have an iphone and I am trying to play music through the speakers of my car. What is the best way of doing this? I am trying to get the best sound quality and prefer not to have anything that's wireless. I have seen people with ipod docks that plug right into the cigarette lighter socket and play great what technically is this because i don't think it plays through the radio. Best advice gets 10 points I do not have an AUX jack in my car: 2005 bmw 325i nor do I have a cassette player so it looks as if i will have to use an fm transmitter :( unless there are better alternatives but thanks so far for the great advise

Ipod and Stereo HELP!!!!? My drum teacher has a normal stereo in his practice place. I wanted to know if there is anyway i can "sync" this ipod to his stereo so that it plays through his speakers. He said another one of his students did it completely wirelessly using the FM setting on his stereo. How? It was COMPLETELY wireless.
how do you make the iphone work with wireless stereo headset like the motorola s9? i have the motorola s9 and the d650 wireless adaptor but the only thing this will allow me to do is control music with the headset. In other words i can only pause, play, and skip track with the headset, but no sound will come through the headset. The iphone's speaker automatically kicks in. I know the headphones and the adaptor work for the ipod touch and other ipods but not the iphone. Does anyone know what i could do to make it work with my iphone? Software, freeware, hackware, anything?
Need Help With Blu-Ray Player/Receiver Connection? I'm getting my boyfriend a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray player for Christmas. He currently has a Sony STR K740P receiver. (This is the blu-ray player I want to get him, since it's one of the best) I want to purchase the BD35 instead of the BD55, since it's $100 cheaper. I want to put that extra money towards surround sound wireless speakers for him. (He only needs two, since it's a smaller living room.... this may be important to know later.) My question is, since basically the main differences between the BD35 and BD55 are: The 35K can only output Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio to a receiver that has an HDMI input. (With the 55K, it doesn't matter since he can use the analog audio outputs to receive that high quality of sound with his older receiver). And, the 55K has 7.1ch analog output, whereas the 35K has 2.1ch audio output. (Honestly, I don't know what this means. If you know, please tell me. I just want to make sure the 2.1ch won't interfere with surround sound.) Question 1: I could be wrong, but I don't think his receiver has an HDMI output. Is there an accessory, cable, or anything I can buy & connect to get that output from his current receiver? Question 2: Since everything will be hooked up together: blu-ray player, dvd player, plasma tv, the receiver, a subwoofer, and 2 surround sound speakers.... does the 55K's "7.1ch analog output" and the 35K's "2.1ch audio output" matter in this area? Does it come into play in this department at all? Question 3: Is there anyway he will be able to hook up his Ipod to the blu-ray player (or receiver), to play music? Or, any extra cable I can buy so this is possible? Thanks for your help! It's greatly appreciated!

SLVR Cell Phone? So A couple of weeks ago I went out with some friends. They were driving and we all decided to listen to some music instead of the local bb game. So they put the radio on mute and they start playing (through the car speakers) from their cell phone. They have Sprint and I thought this was cool cause it was like an IPod but wireless. I have the slvr through AT&T that plays itunes and I am wondering if anyone knows if I can do this with my phone and the steps to get this to work! Thanks. NO DUMB ANSWERS! Cause they are ll obnoxious.
