Wireless Speakers Knowledge Base
Wireless speakers? I'd like to find a wireless speaker system, but I am not sure where to start looking. I'd like a simple system that can connect to my ipod. Would like good to great sound quality. A big key would be expandability (i.e. single transmitter which allows for additional speakers to be added at another time, or maybe I can connect it to my DVD player). I'd also like the speakers to be indoor/outdoor, although I don't know if that makes any difference. Our new house has a huge deck and I'd like to have tunes pump out there. Any advice?
wireless speakers? I am looking to purchase a set of wireless speakers. They will be goin in a new steakhouse that my family is opening, and i am wondering what brands are trustworthy. These speakers need to be able to go about 50 ft if not more. thx for the help....
Wireless Speakers? I am thinking about buying wireless speakers for my stereo and wanted to know what I should be looking for. I want it for surround sound and general music listening. Eventually I would like to put them outside as well. Looking for quality that doesn't break the wallet.
Any ideas for wireless solutions linking a mac to a stereo and speakers and tv to stereo? we have just moved house and need wireless only solutions around the house in connecting a mac (osx 10.4) to a sony hifi in a different room to link up and play itunes through the stereo. we need a wireless modem and adaptor to connect to broadband as phone line is in a separate hallway. we also would like a wireless connection from our samsung (new) tv to the same stereo to again play sound through the speakers. also are there any decent wireless speakers for a mac as ideally we would like speakers for the same room where the mac is and also our bedroom. i have looked at airport express etc and visited many shops but am baffled with it all. sounds a lot i know but please advise in plain english exactly how everything would work and cost. all the above has to be reasonably good quality but also affordable. I know i already stated it is a mac so must be mac compatible, if you do not know this please don't answer the question. Cheers.
Has anyone used more than one set of wireless speakers? I will be upgrading from a 5.1 to a 7.1 home theater receiver. I live in an apartment and don't want to run wires to the 2 surrounds, and 2 rear speakers. I plan on purchasing a "Rocketfish" wireless transmitter/receiver to send the signal to the rear speakers. I don't have the surround speakers yet but was wondering about the possibility of using "two" rocketfish setups. They transmit on 2.4Ghz I believe. Would there be interference issues? Would using two setups significantly reduce sound quality? I know wireless quality is subpar to a direct connection so I really don't want to do wireless at all but I just cant run wires. Any help would be appreciated.
How can I make my speakers wireless? I have 2 bose speakers that i do not use because i hate to have wires running across the room . Is there an adapter or somthing that I can add to reciever and speakers to make them wireless. I do not want to buy a new set of wireless speakers.
Is there a way to hook my outdoor wireless speaker to work with my wired speakers? Only one will work at a time. I have a aux in, video output, audio output and a coaxial output. And of course a headphone in but if I plug it into that it immediately shuts down the wired speakers. Which is what I'm trying not to do. I want them to work simultaneously. My wireless speaker has a regular single post connection.
What's the best way to make non-wireless speakers, wireless? My parents have a great HTIB but the rear speakers are hard wired. In their old house this was fine because we put the cables under the carpeting but in this house that's impossible because of hardwood floors. So, I was thinking is it possible to make the rear speakers wireless? Thanks!
I need to have a sound system that will allow 10+ wireless speakers? Any suggestions on setup/brands? We're trying to arrange an outdoor video screening on a huge projector on a wall. We have basic 5 speaker setup stereo available, but we want to be able to wire additional speakers throughout the space (it's huge space so everything is pretty spaced out). We want to avoid having to crank up the volume in on the main speakers (like a theater), so we rather do it drive-in movie style where each section gets their own speakers (wireless preferred). Any ideas on setup or how to do this?
Wireless speakers - What is the best solution? I am looking to get a home theatre set up (dolby DTS or 5.1) with wireless speakers. I have seen that the majority on the market only offer wireless rear speakers which use infra red and arent reliable, as well as being expensive. I would have thought that there was a setup that used wifi instead of infra red? Can anyone confirm this? If so where do I get it from? What are your experiences with wireless speakers? Should I get infra red, somethign else, or just stick to wires?
Can i hardwire wireless surround sound speakers ? I am looking at buying a surround sound system, and it seems thye all come with wireless speakers. Now i dont want my home network and speakers conflicting for the 2.4 band so i would rather just run the speaker wires for the rear under the floor in the basement and back up.
How do wireless speakers work? I am interested on building my own wireless speakers, but am having trouble finding resources, both written and electronic. I was hopping to find out more about how the radio signal works and what hardware I would need, also I assume I will need a battery for each speaker and for that I was wondering how much of a charge the battery needs or how small it can possibly be. Any links or books to check out would be greatly appreciated!
Satellite/Wireless speakers, does the conveniece sacrifice the quality? I'm trying to make the best possible home theater I can get within my budget limits. Of course I'm looking at quality first, style second. Considering the size of the room I'm working with, I was reading on satellite/wireless speakers and thought to myself "no wires showing would be great, and less of a hassle for me". My original plan is to have the speakers next to the TV (set A lets call them) to be wired to the home theater receiver and the 2 satellite speakers to be wireless (set B). Would there be a noticeable latency for the satellite speakers receiving as signal? For example, will I hear a scream on set A and 2 seconds later hear the same scream on set B? Going with latency, let's assume DVDs don't have a latency, but what about videogame consoles? I am planning to hook up the systems as well, but will since these days consoles have multiple sounds coming from multiple directions at once, I wasn't sure if the wireless speakers router could handle it.
where can i get wireless speakers for ipod? I have an iHome, and I would like to have additional speakers around my room to broadcast the music everywhere. I can't seem to find any, though. Cords won't really work because I'd have to make them go ALL the way around, including over a door. And wireless seems much simpler. Thanks

How can you make wired speakers wireless? I have a 5.1 surround sound system, and all of my speakers are wired directly to my receiver. Is there anyway to make my rear 2 speakers wireless? I.E. They plug into some kind of transmitter (and the transmitter plugs into the wall for power), and there is a receiver plugged into the back of my 5.1 audio receiver?

Can I convert my wired speakers to wireless? I am wondering if I can convert my wired Hi-Fi speakers to become wireless? I know you can buy wireless speakers but is there a kit which will enable you to do away with the wires from the Amp to the speakers so you are not bothered with having to hide the speaker wires etc. My Stereo Amp is a Denon PMA 500-AE and the speakers Wharfedale Diamond 9.1. Would be very grateful for any help. Thanks, Irene

How do I to hook up Wireless Outdoor Speakers to an older stereo? I have an older JVC stereo system and want to hook up wireless outdoor speakers to it, but the JVC has the old style wire clamp system for the speakers. Is there some sort of adapter I can get? Where is a good source that I should look? edit: Please, I have a low budget and can't get anything OVER 10 bucks. I don't care what quality but I can't spend LOTS of money.
Anyone know of an affordable home theater system with wireless rear speakers? Long story short, I'm looking for a surround sound system with wireless rear speakers because I lease an apartment and don't want to drill holes to hide the wiring from the front to the back of the room. I know of some systems that have wireless rear speakers, but the cheapest one I've seen was a BOSE system for $1,499 which is a bit much for an apartment. I don't need it to be that powerful. I've got other tenants to contend with. Any suggestions would be great.
Are there any good wireless speakers for surround sound? I've been thinking of buying a surround sound for my living room but the wires are such a mess. I know wireless may not produce the same sound quality but what is a good solution? Lets just say the budget goes only up to $1000 for example.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as wireless speakers for your tv and your laptop? I am looking for speakers that i can use for both my tv as well as my laptop. If they were wireless it would make my life easier because my tv is in my living room and i am usually on the laptop in my bedroom. Also i have a very unique round entertainment center so to many speakers aren't really necessary. im on the verge of getting separate systems but i figured i would ask first and try to save some money
