Can I convert SPDIF digital audio signals to analog RCA outputs? I have a home theatre scenario where I have component video and SPDIF audio delivered to a room. I'd like to be able to connect the SPDIF digital audio to the good old "stereo RCA" inputs of the TV. To do so I need a small, cheap box that will take SPDIF digital in and produce either analog stereo or analog surround signals. I'd think this would be easy, but can't find anything besides this, and I'm not even sure if that does it: http://www.amabilidade2002.com/toslink.htm So... SPDIF in, left and right analog RCA cables out. Anyone know of a solution? Thanks! By the way, yes I understand this downgrades audio. Its just for watching the news and stuff where you don't want it run through the whole surround setup, or where the room doesn't have a receiver. Still looking for a small simple "DAC in a BOX" to do this...
Can you combine optical audio signals? I have an amp that has 1 audio optical input (tosklink). I have 2 optical sources (PC & Sky TV). Is it possible to get an optical 2 to 1 input device and would that work? Obviously, only 1 input device active at a time. Thanks.
how can i send audio and video signals to all the simple antenna for tv? i want to buy a audio video sender range up to 300 meter to 500 meter that send audio and video channel through signals for all tv anteena. that no requires an extra antenna. plzzz visit this link but it has low range. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View… please help me for this purpose.
Hi. My question is regarding types of coax that can be used to carry digital audio signals.? Basically I am building a new house and am setting up 2 audio systems for 2 locations within the house. I want to try and make use of digital audio outs from my computer and some other sources so I am runnig cables to suit. The distances aren't great probably 10 to 20 metres. It doesn't seem possible and certainly not economical to buy ready made digital audio coax cables to suit. I actually work in the surveillance industry and use alot of RG59bu coax cable for video signals. It is more flexible than the standard RG6 used for TV transmission. Can I just use this cable and fit gold plated RCA connectors at each end? It is 75 ohm, which seems to be listed on all the specs for ready made cables. Or is there a specific type I must use? Also are those distances an issue? I would appreciate some advice. Thanks
How can I implement audio signals? How can I implement audio into a 555 timer chip so that the audio is played only when the timer sets it. Please tell me as soon as possible; THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Is digital signals audio and video a conundrum? Who shall be responsible to syncronize the signals to the TV? The most obvious effect of the digital signal is the video clearity. The sound or the audio portion is dubbed. will the station/ netwoks be responsible for content or the FCC?
How to play normal stereo audio signals to 5.1 channels in realtime? I want the exact left stereo channel to also play in the left back speaker and the exact right stereo channel to also play in the right back speaker in a 5.1 surround speaker setup. And I do not want any channel in the center speaker. Please tell me if this is possible. I have tried SRS Audio Sandbox but it does not have such a feature
Unbalanced and balanced audio signals? In an unbalanced cable, what is it that causes interference? I get the basic idea about balanced cables sending the same signal "out of phase" in different directions and cancelling each other out at the other end which would be a mixing desk or a guitar amp etc. But if anyone knows of any sites or could explain unbalanced and balanced audio cables/signals to me that would be fantastic. Cheers guys!
HDMI is giving no video or audio signals? I plogged in my HDMI cable, and BAM!!! No video or audio. I turn my 360 on, and nothing shows up on my T.V. it used to work before, but now it doesn't. Also, the cables going to my surround sound also do not work. Help!
is there a device that can convert audio signals to fiber signals?....? i am running a fm radio channel, but my tower on which the transmitting antennas are installed is very far away from the studio, so i need a device that can convert audio signals into such signals that can travel in optical fiber at one end and at other it can convert them back to audio signals...... in short i need a device that has an audio in/out port and a fiber in/out port....
Audio splitter cable needed, taking 2 audio signals and feeding them into the same connection on my TV? I have a new HD TV that uses the same Audio input for Composite and for the VGA display options. I need to find a cable that will allow me to permanently plug in audio cables from my Media center PC and my Xbox 360 at the same time. I will only be using 1 at a time so interference shouldn't be a problem but the only audio splitter cables I can find take 1 source and split it into 2 rather than the other way around. Any links/thoughts on this? Bearing in mind I need UK or ship to UK websites. Thanks in advance
Audio signals. What is the Vout? An audio signal is processed by an audio filter with a GdB = -30dB and is followed by an amplifier with GdB = +30dB. The input is 200mV. What size is Vout?
Up conversion of audio signals, need help!!? If you send an audio signal to your tv through a regular analog audio cable, then send it to your home theater system with a digital audio cable from your tv, will the signal be up converted from analog to digital 100%, some what converted, or not converted at all?
merge two audio signals ? i want to merge two audio signals i can make an adapter that connects the left right audio will this damage the mp3 with the back current from the other device and in general will this work ?
How to send an audio signal via infrared? I want to send an audio signal via infrared and then receive it and play it through speakers (headphones). The plan is to use some sort of ADC to convert the audio signal to digital, send the signal wirelessly, receive and clean it up using a schmitt and then a DAC to convert the signal back to an analogue one. It will then be played through the speakers. Can anyone help with any aspect of this - particularly some possible ways to send the digital signal via infrared. Thanks in advance.
which type of filter is best to filter a band of Audio signals,? friends can u tell me which type of filter is best to filter a band of Audio signals, for example,it has to pass signal frequency from 1Khz to 3Khz,and reject signals below 1Khz and above 2Khz. 1)do u think a band-pass filter (LC network),tuned to allow 1kHz to 3Khz. 2)Can active RC op-amp filter can do that job. 3)And is there any other technique to pass a band of Audio signals, for example,it has to pass signal frequency from 1Khz to 3Khz,and reject signals below 1Khz and above 2Khz. please help me.......................
How can get the audio signal from a tv station on a radio? I wish I could listen to some shows over the radio, when I am not near a tv set. For example, if I don't have a tv available let's say I want to listen to the Dr. Phil show, or my local news broadcast. Can I pick up the audio signal from a tv station on a radio? Do I need a special radio?
Do I need to purchase different Audio cables with my Component Video Cables? According to BestBuy, I need to purchase specific audio cables to go along with a pack of Component cables. I had orginally thought this was unnecessary, since the video and audio signals are separate, thus using my regular Composite audio cables would work just fine. Can I just use my original composite cables for my audio?
hack music system audio and tv signals? hi, i want to make a project. Aim : 1. To stop the sound of audio system (cassette player) 2. To stop the signal of Tv(disturb the signals badly which do not let the viewer to watch) thankful to one who really help me.
How can I convert digital signals to analog signals? What external devices can I buy to convert my digital audio signals to analog audio signals? Maybe a box or filter or something. plz no consumer items Well say I have something like a keyboard or synth or something, can I plug it into an analog receiver or any other analog device?
How to filter low frequency out of audio signal? I heard there are diferent devices for filtering low frequency out of an audio signal so I dont damage my High Frequency Speakers. I have seen some electrical component soldered in place with my High Frequency Speakers. Someone told me that this component does the filtering. Can somebody please tell me what this component is called and where i can get them and what do i have to watch out when buying them. I am building myself a costum speaker system.
Is it possible to transmit a wireless audio signal from my computer to portable radios elsewhere in my house? I frequently listen to internet radio. This can be linked up by audio sender from the dining room computer to the aux socket on the lounge HiFi, and could also possibly be heard elsewhere in the house by purchasing dedicated internet radio receivers utilising our wireless broadband connection. It would therfore appear to be far more cost effective and less restricting if this signal could instead be transmitted via FM in some way to my existing portable radios. Is it possible to utilise and adapt the new MP3/FM car transmitters for this purpose, or is there some other simple means of achieving this?
How To Split Subwoofer/Center Output from Audio Card To Separate Subwoofer & Center Signals For Yamaha Amp? My audio card has 3 micro output plugs: 1/ Frt Speakers 2/ Rear Speakers 3/ Combined Subwoofer/Center output I'm able to split frt and rear signals with a RCA y-adapter to get frt-left frt-right and rear-left and rear-right. Do I use the same y-adapter to separate subwoofer from center signals I already have the sound card. It has 5 outputs. front-right, front-left, rear-right, rear-left (which are split from the 2 y-adapters) and the 5th is labelled center/subwoofer. Can I split that with a y-adpater as well?
Is there a way for computers to receive walkie-talkie radio signals? Can you either buy a receiver for a computer to pick up walkie-talkie signals, or somehow pick them up with some type of Wi-Fi-enabled device? I want the walkie-talkie air wave audio signals to show up as an audio input device on my computer so I can record and broadcast them, etc. Is there a way to do this on either a PC or Mac?
Is it possible to convert DC Current into an audio signal? I realize that DC current does not alternate and therefore technically would not create any sound, but all I need is an audio representation of the amount of DC current flowing to a motor. Sort of like voltmeter that provides sound instead of a number for its readings. I have looked into using a DC current converter to power a tone oscillator, but the project seemed a little too complex for me. If any one has any ideas, or even knows of a multimeter that has an audio output, please let me know! Thanks! I have limited electronics knowledge... I built a few VERY simple circuits (Blinking LED's, etc) in high school, but I don't have the same resources now that I did then. The purpose of this conversion is to turn the signal sent from a video game to the "rumble" motor in the controller (basically DC current to an electric motor) into sound that can be fed to a device called a Buttkicker LFE (www.thebuttkicker.com), which is basically a vibrating motor that is activated by low end (bass) frequencies. I would definately use some sort of IC chip in a cirucuit if I knew how, but most of the instructions for voltage to frequency converters seem way over my head.
How do you connect 4 wireless headphones to a tv to broadcast same audio signal? A school library wants to include movie titles. However, because its a library they want it so that movies can be shown but the sound is through wireless headsets. How would I go about doing this? I would need multiple headsets displaying the same sounds... A specific brand would be helpful and a site. Could i find something like this at circuit city or best buy???
How to control the volume when I output the audio? Dear all, I have a Samsung LN40A550 1080p LCD HDTV. However, the TV speaker is not good as I expect. So I mute the TV speakers and connect the audio output with external speakers. The problem is that I cannot use the TV remote control to adjust the level of the volume anymore. It seems that the TV remote volume control only works for the TV speakers rather than the output audio signal. Anyone gets some ideas? Thank you -Daniel To Golfer: Manual: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200803/20080307202315171_BN68-01392A-00L02-0221.pdf I am not able to find the menu that can set the output audio as viabled. If possible, may you help me see where it says that? I do find the place where I can turn off the speaker. thank you for this:) Thank you -Daniel
Can I silence HDMI Audio in my Sony DVD Changer? I'm my current home theater setup, I've got my Sony DVD Changer (Model DVPNC85H) with an HDMI output to my Bravia TV, and a Digital Coaxial Output to my A/V Receiver. I prefer to have my audio routed thought the Receiver at all times, but the HDMI carries an audio signal to the TV as well. I'm looking to find a way to mute the HDMI audio stream from the DVD Player to the TV. The only HDMI audio options on the DVD setup are "AUTO" and "PCM", unless I'm missing something. If I mute the TV, I have a "Muting" dialog box in the corner of the screen at all time, which Sony has confirmed that I can't remove. In the short term, I'm able to manually drop the volume on the TV, but I'd prefer to have all of this programmed through my Harmony remote without having to fuss with the volume levels manually. Any thoughts on muting the HDMI audio stream? New detail to add re: the first response... My AV Receiver is a few years old, and has no HDMI input.
